Re: Solstice Greetings
Dear Sol [or do you go by "Sunny" still?]:
Well, it’s that time of the year again – sorry, as always, to hear the Northerners have cut back your hours. I trust your increasing summer duties will help “pay the light bills”[!] You’ll always have Sydney, in the Northerners’ off-season…
Went to an asteroid breakfast buffet last week after you rose. Ate too much, as always – was I ever full!
Then I took the wife and satellites to the Mercury Theater’s orbiting production of “Fiddler on the Roof”. I still think of you whenever I hear “Sunrise, Sunset” – it still lights up the whole house.
Switched over to a Mac recently. I gather since you still manage to pass through Windows every day, I’ll remain the rebel-rouser in our circle. How is “Your” Microsystems doing in the tech “sphere’ these days?
And it might just be my yourglasses talking, or a trick of the yourlight, but whenever you’re around, all the heavenly bodies in our neighborhood look even hotter – lots of real MILKy Ways [Moons I'd Love to Kryptonize] out there lately…they could almost “star” on my and the missus’ favorite guilty pleasure, the atomic sudser “Disparate Halflives”, which we watch as soon as our little satellites have set…
Say, could you give me the name of that dermastronomer who cleared up your spots? And it’s not just my severe acne – as you can see,

I need a good ophthalmologist – ever since those joyrocketing French kids back in 1902 busted a capsule in my right eye, I’ve felt like Long John Solar…and let’s remember, in case I go to court – *eye* didn’t *start* the Méliès, they did…Do you think laser surgery might work? maybe a solstitch or two and eye’ll be good as new…
Nothing against you, but with the reduced hours of yourlight this time of year, I see a lot of my “dark side”, as do my northern-hemispherean homies of theirs. I still chuckle whenever they see me after my monthly diet, and compare me to a fingernail, SOL…
Good luck with the Solstice. For the northerners, you might play a certain Pink Floyd album whose title the little satellites still tease me about, and you might play for the southerners that Springsteen tune that Manfred Mann covered so well – looks like they had *your* number, wot? -
